Why we exist

Money-transfer providers compete on slogans. “No fees.” “Best rate.” “Send instantly.” What they don't advertise is the margin baked into their quoted exchange rate — the gap between the mid-market rate and the rate you actually receive. That margin is where the real cost lives.

For most cross-border senders — UK families supporting relatives in India, Nigeria, Pakistan, the Philippines, Kenya, Bangladesh — a few percent on the exchange rate compounds into hundreds of pounds a year. We think people deserve to see that number clearly.

How we work

• ·Real quotes only. Every figure we publish is a snapshot of an actual quote from the provider's own quote calculator. We don't estimate, model, or scrape rates from third parties.
• ·£1,000 reference. Every snapshot uses £1,000 as the send amount, so providers are compared apples-to-apples. Fee structures and rate tiers shift at different amounts — we may add support for variable amounts as the product grows.
• ·Mid-market exposed. Every quoted rate is compared against the true mid-market rate (the rate banks use between themselves). The gap between them is the provider's margin — and we show it.
• ·Recipient-first ranking. Providers are ranked by what the recipient gets. Not by “lowest fee.” Not by “best rate.” By the actual amount in the recipient's account.

Our principles

• Independence. Rankings are never influenced by commercial relationships. Plyna may earn a referral fee if you start a transfer through a link on this site — but the ranking order is determined solely by recipient amount. A provider cannot buy a better position.
• Transparency. Every snapshot is dated. Every figure can be traced back to a real provider quote on a real day. If we're wrong, you can check.
• Honesty over polish. If we don't have real data for a corridor, we say so. We'd rather show fewer providers honestly than more providers with made-up numbers.
